Designer Todd Oldham and Chef Tony Mantuano Join Forces

New Fractional Ownership Hotel and Restaurant Opening in the Heart of South Beach

. October 14, 2008

MIAMI, FL, September 7, 2006. Designer Todd Oldham and James Beard award-winning Chef Tony Mantuano, from Chicago's Spiaggia Restaurant, are teaming up with developer and restaurateur Larry Levy to open The Fairfax, a luxury boutique and proposed fractional ownership resort in South Beach. Located on 18th Street and Collins Avenue, The Fairfax will also feature Enoteca Spiaggia, the first expansion of Levy Restaurant's 23 year-old acclaimed Spiaggia in Chicago. The property is undergoing extensive renovations and is scheduled to open in the fall of 2007. Fractional sales of the 53-suite property are scheduled to begin in November 2006.

'Tony's cooking and Todd's designs combine together so wonderfully and we are excited to see what they will create,' said Larry Levy, Co-Founder and Chairman of Levy Restaurants, as well as the developer of The Fairfax. 'Our goal is to offer a complete lifestyle experience conceived by one of the very best design visionaries in the world and one of America's most innovative chefs. It will be a property that truly stands out from the crowd in Miami Beach,' added Levy.

Inspired by Chef Mantuano's unique take on Italian cuisine, Todd Oldham is custom-designing all aspects of the hotel and restaurant to reflect the whimsical, yet sophisticated flavors in Mantuano's cooking. Spiaggia, which means 'beach' in Italian, is the basis for the color palette of the hotel and restaurant, featuring a mix of neutrals, honey-colored woods and 'pops' of wave-crested blues. Italian tiles and veneers, inspired by the Amalfi Coast, add to the color palette. Oldham has worked closely with Mantuano, even going as far as measuring the entrees that will be served in Enoteca Spiaggia, to design plates and cutlery for the restaurant. Oldham is also designing a coral bar that will serve a selection of Italian artisan mozzarella cheeses and crudo. This new concept will introduce diners to handcrafted mozzarella paired in many delicious combinations.

Upon completion, the Fairfax is proposed to feature 53 high-end fractional ownership suites available for sale in deeded quarter ownership real estate interests. Included in the fractional ownership program, the residence owners receive memberships that entitle them to privileged access to the rooftop, including a private dinner club and pool, a private beach club, health club and spa. Members also receive the services typical in a high-end hotel, including 24-hour multi-lingual concierge, daily housekeeping, room service from Enoteca Spiaggia, airport pickup and valet parking, as well as some unique features including pre-arrival grocery shopping, including owners' favorite wines and spirits, and placement of personal items prior to arrival. The Fairfax will also be a member of the exclusive Registry Collection, where owners have reciprocal use in a luxury assemblage among the finest resorts and homes in exclusive destinations around the globe.
