OTTERTAIL, MN - May 11. 2010 - Madison Hospitality Group, LLC, a Minnesota-based hospitality operator, has purchased Thumper Pond Golf Resort, a popular destination property in Ottertail, Minnesota. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Bill Schultz, Vice President of Madison Hospitality Group, says that over a half-million dollars are slated for investment in the 250-acre full-service three-star resort located 70 minutes east of Fargo, ND. “We are committed to the future success of Thumper Pond - both through a significant investment of capital and a passion to serve our current and future resort guests,” says Schultz.

There is a new vision at the property in Ottertail, with plans being made for an extensive restaurant renovation as well as a facelift for the public spaces on the property. Thumper Pond Golf Resort features amenities for guests including an all-suite hotel, championship 18-hole golf course, pro-shop, conference center, restaurant/lounge, spa, and indoor waterpark.

Golf Magazine described the 18-hole championship golf course as a must play saying, “Challenging holes and beautiful scenery make this golf course a desirable location for all golfers. The 12,000-square-foot Northern Hideaway Indoor Waterpark features a three-story tower with two slides that twist and turn outside the waterpark, a zero-entry toddler pool and lazy river tube ride. The park is big enough to entertain kids and small enough for adults to be able to relax.
