Marriott Fairfield Inn & Suites Opens in New Bedford
WESTPORT, MA - June 1, 2010 - Richard Lafrance, President and C.E.O. of Lafrance Hospitality, announced that the Marriott Fairfield Inn & Suites, located at 185 MacArthur Drive, New Bedford - the newest jewel in the hotel group, has opened ahead of schedule in New Bedford, Ma.

Construction took about ten months. The general contractor was Bufftree Building Co. of New Bedford, with planning and construction overseen by Lafrance Hospitality Facilities Director, Sean Lafrance. Coordination of the remaining aspects of the hotel goods was overseen by the V.P. of Hotel Operations, Tim Burkhardt. The new hotel includes amenities such as the complimentary Hot Buffet Breakfast served daily, complimentary wired and wireless high-speed Internet access and complimentary coffee and tea service. Extended Stay Suites include separate areas for working, relaxing and sleeping - including an entertainment area with flat screen television and ihome stereo system, in-room refrigerator and microwave.
The facility also offers a business library, guest laundry, 24-hour market, fitness center, a hotel courtesy shuttle to area businesses, and an indoor pool and Jacuzzi. There are meeting facilities, as well, with an Executive Board Room. A 3,000 square foot full service Conference Center, called the Waypoint Event Center, which includes a ballroom and three meeting rooms, is in the final stages of planning with an anticipated September 1, opening. The facility is the ideal location for both weddings and regional conferences with ample meeting rooms and a function room accommodating 175 guests. Both a ribbon cutting and an open house are being planned for next month.
