New HR Program at The Inverness Rewards Employees with Suds

Executive members of the leadership team will wash employee cars at first annual 'Employee Suds' kickoff event

ENGLEWOOD, CO - August 2, 2010 - Imagine your boss dunking a sponge to wash your car while you sit nearby watching and sipping on a complimentary beverage. On Fri., August 13, this 'in-your-dreams' scenario will become a reality as executive members of the leadership team at The Inverness Hotel lather up the suds to wash cars for the hotel's 350 employees. As companies look for budget friendly ways to reward employees, the hotel's recently hired HR Director, Linda McGill, coordinated the inaugural program to create a spirited way to praise employees and give management a fun way to interact with their staff. The Employee Suds car wash will operate from 2-4pm and is open to all employees on a first come, first serve basis. Participants will be treated to complimentary beverages and treats as they wait and snap car wash memento photos.

Actions speak louder than words

In a time when employee confidence and morale are being put to the test, The Inverness Hotel is taking proactive measures to show their employee appreciation. “Since 1989, the hotel has worked hard to build a reputation as a fair and equal opportunity employer,” said McGill. “Even though budgets may be slightly tighter, it's programs like these that help us show our employees how much we appreciate their support and loyalty.”

On Fri., August 13, approximately eight senior executives of The Inverness Hotel Leadership Team will wash and detail employee cars in the North parking lot for two hours or until all the cars in line have been washed. The Employee Suds car wash program will include an exterior wash, tire rim wash, and choice of air freshener. Staff will have the option to sign up in advance to confirm their car wash or they can drop in anytime between 2-4pm. The hotel will also host a complimentary beverage and snack area for employees to relax in while they get their car washed.

While having managers wash cars in general will make for an entertaining afternoon, McGill anticipates that well-known hotel figures like Managing Director George Fischer, Vice President of National Sales Curtis Bova, and Director of Finance Dave Maxwell will be a major draw and help make this a successful employee event. “The Leadership Group is all looking forward to washing cars,” said Fischer. “We think it will be a fun way to thank our employees for their hard work and continued support!”
