The New London Inn Cuts OS&E Costs by 30% While Helping Local Non-profit
Non-Profit & Environment Benefits Via Donation of Old Linens,Guests Appreciate Enhanced Quality of New Ones, Owners Enjoys Cost Savings
New London, NH - September 8, 2010 - The New London Inn announces that RSJ Associates, which specializes in Interior Design, Fixture & Equipment (FF&E) Procurement and Operating Supplies & Equipment (OS&E) Procurement for the hospitality industry, has lowered its OS&E costs by 30%.
Local Non-Profit & the Environment Benefits
Rather than throwing out the used linen and terry that was in perfectly good condition, but did not meet The New London Inn's new higher standards, the Inn donated it at RSJ Associates' suggestion to Upper Valley Haven, a local non-profit that provides shelter and food to homeless families. In addition to helping families in need in the area, the repurposing of the items resulted in there being no negative impact on the environment. 100% of the packaging, both cardboard and plastic, that the new OS&E supplies arrived in was also recycled.
Costs Savings, Higher Quality:
“I suspected we were paying too much for our OS&E so hired RSJ Associates,” says Sandi Raeuchle, Business Manager of The New London Inn. “What I didn't anticipate is that they would not only significantly lower our OS&E costs, but increase the quality of our linens, terry and pillows to such a level that our guests noticed and commented appreciatively on the change.”
RSJ Associates' objectives were to immediately reduce The New London Inn's OS&E costs and improve customer satisfaction. It focused its efforts on replacing the Inn's linens, terry, pillows and shower curtains with higher quality ones that cost less than what the Inn had been paying.
“When selecting OS&E items for the New London Inn we considered long-term impact, for example, how many washings can the sheets sustain, in addition to improved quality and cost,” says Jennifer Bernard, Partner at RSJ Associates. “Doing so will result in long term cost savings and is better for the environment.”
