CONCORD, NC, January 22, 2007. Mr. John Q. Hammons and the city of Concord, N.C. are celebrating the official opening of the new $60-million, 308-suite Embassy Suites Hotel Charlotte-Concord Resort and Spa.

The hotel has an adjoining Concord Convention Center with 80,000 gross square feet of meeting space. Owned by Mr. Hammons, the development represents the first full-service hotel and convention center in Concord, and Mr. Hammons' fifth hotel in North Carolina.

Springfield, Mo.-based John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts, LLC will manage the hotel and convention center. More than 800 honored guests and local dignitaries attended the celebratory ribbon-cutting ceremony and festivities at the hotel featuring Concord Mayor Scott Padgett; Mr. John Q. Hammons, founder, chairman and chief executive officer of John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts, LLC; and Mr. Terry Crawford, general manager of the Embassy Suites Hotel Charlotte-Concord Resort and Spa.

"The Charlotte-Concord area is exploding with growth and opportunity, and we?re proud to contribute to the ongoing development by bringing an all-suites hotel and convention center to the market," Mr. Hammons said.

The first-class hotel and convention center overlook the area's premier municipal course at Rocky River Golf Club, also managed by John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts, LLC, and are in close proximity to the popular Concord Mills Mall and NASCAR hot-spot Lowe's Motor Speedway. The Embassy Suites Hotel Charlotte-Concord Resort and Spa was recently named the official hotel of the Lowe's Motor Speedway and next week will host more than 200 media members as part of the speedway's NASCAR NEXTEL Media Tour to kick-start the new racing season.

"We are so pleased to celebrate the opening of the Concord Convention Center and Embassy Suites Resort," said Concord Mayor Scott Padgett. "This is a piece of the tourism pie that we have been missing. The facility allows us to welcome even more visitors to our city for years to come."

"The hotel's unique offerings such as, Caffeina's Internet Caf'e and Spa Botanica, make the Embassy Suites Hotel Charlotte-Concord Resort and Spa appealing to both business and leisure travelers, as well as locals. These features, combined with the quality service of our staff, provide an exceptional guest experience," said Terry Crawford, general manager of the Embassy Suites Hotel Charlotte-Concord Resort and Spa.
