CHA Names Choice Hotels a Strategic Alliance Partner
JANUARY 23, 2007. Worldwide lodging franchisor Choice Hotels International, Inc. (NYSE: CHH) has been named a strategic alliance partner of the Caribbean Hotel Association (CHA). Choice Hotels has the exclusive rights within the lodging category.
The announcement of the partnership comes from the recent signing of a membership agreement with the CHA by Choice. The agreement designates Choice as a strategic alliance partner of the CHA for a period of three years.
'Our goal in this partnership is to gain exposure of our brands throughout the Caribbean so that we can accomplish two core objectives - drive more business to the existing Choice brand hotels that are in operation and grow our brand distribution throughout the region via conversion and new construction opportunities,' said Brian Parker, vice president, emerging markets and new business development, Choice Hotels.
Choice will receive numerous benefits thanks to this new partnership, including platinum sponsor status and recognition at the CHA's three major annual conferences, free exposure and promotion, and official Choice links on the CHA's web site.
'Choice is very excited about our new strategic partnership with the CHA,' said David Pepper, division president, upscale and extended stay brands division, Choice Hotels. 'We look forward to working with the CHA and strengthening our presence in the Caribbean marketplace.'
'We are honored to welcome Choice Hotels as a strategic partner of the Caribbean Hotel Association,' said Alec Sanguinetti, director general and chief executive officer of the Caribbean Hotel Association. 'Choice brand hotels enjoy an undisputable reputation for high standards and we look forward to a productive collaboration that benefits the CHA Federation, its members and Choice's role in the region.'
