Antigua Named Best Beach Destination
JANUARY 23, 2007. The twin island nation of Antigua and Barbuda has been named 'Best Beach Destination' at the first Luxury Travel Readers Awards.
The award was presented on Friday 12 January at an exclusive lunch held in Hammersmith, London. The Luxury Travel Reader Awards recognises excellence across the world, making this a much coveted prize.
The Honourable Dr Carl Roberts, High Commissioner for Antigua and Barbuda attended the event to receive the award on behalf of his country. Speaking after the event he commented: "We are proud and delighted to receive this award which recognises the beauty of our islands' beaches. With 365 beaches, one for every day of the year, we can offer something to suit every visitors wish. Our commitment to keeping our beaches unspoilt stands us in good stead for many years to come."

Antigua and Barbuda's beaches afford beachgoers the luxury of privacy and beauty with numerous bays and coves to explore.
