Affordable Suites Expands to Columbia, SC
December 21, 2010 - Affordable Suites announced today the expansion into the Columbia, SC market, with purchase of an existing hotel, formerly a Residence Inn by Marriott, at 150 Stoneridge Drive. The hotel location is just outside downtown Columbia off I-126 and Greystone Blvd.
“We're excited about expansion into a larger metropolitan area,” said Tony Free, Managing Partner. Free continues, “The existing hotels in the Affordable Suites portfolio are located in smaller tertiary markets and are smaller prototypes, most having less than 35 units.”
The Columbia hotel is comprised of 128 studio and two bedroom units and will be the first hotel to be reflagged an Affordable Suites Deluxe. The amenity package of the Affordable Suites Deluxe will include an extended continental breakfast which includes several hot items. There will also be an evening social hour offering a light dinner with beverages.
Affordable Suites portfolio consists of 17 locations in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia with plans to possibly expand into Georgia and Florida in the near future.
