Ritz-Carlton, Westchester Unveils Newest “Cupcakes That Care” Program

White Plains, NY - March 21, 2011 - Spring is in the air and on the menu at The Ritz-Carlton, Westchester, where the spring Cupcake that Cares will be introduced as the new season is ushered in. Cupcakes that Care, now in its third season, is a program introduced at the end of 2010 that takes everyone's favorite treat and gives it a dual purpose: it satisfies the sweet tooth and raises money for local non-profit organizations that have been hand-picked by the staff at the hotel.
This season's cupcake, the “Spring Fling,” celebrates the return of the growing season with orange scented cake filled with juicy mandarin oranges and topped with vanilla bean buttercream. It is decorated with bright and beautiful flowers also made of buttercream.
“We are pleased that a portion of proceeds from our Spring Fling cupcakes will benefit Friends of Westchester County Parks,” said Jacqueline Sanders, General Manager, The Ritz-Carlton, Westchester. “It's a great organization that does wonderful work that enables us all to enjoy the beauty of Westchester County.”
Cupcakes that Care cost $3.50 each, with $0.50 going to charity, or $42.00 per dozen, with $6.00 going to charity and are on sale in The Lounge on Friday evenings during Crème de la Crème Cupcake Night.
