SALISBURY, MD - March 29, 2011 - Officials of Marshall Hotels & Resorts, Inc., a leading, Maryland-based hotel management and services company, today announced the company has signed contracts to manage the 350-room Crowne Plaza Hartford - Downtown Hotel, in Connecticut; the 158-room Ramada Plaza Hagerstown, in Maryland; and the 160- room Best Western Deltona Inn, in Florida. The company also was appointed as receiver for the 125-room Comfort Inn Hotel in Hunt Valley, Maryland.

“We expect to see a significant uptick in the number of properties either being sold or placed into receivership this year,” said Mike Marshall, president and CEO. “Our plan is to continue to add properties at a measured pace. We have the infrastructure in place to add some 10 new contracts in 2011.

“Many properties have suffered significantly from the downturn and need capital and reinvigorated management with a clear-cut plan to take advantage of all the opportunities that the rebound is creating,” he added. “While a strengthening economy will positively impact all hotels, we believe that we still have a volatile operating environment that requires the right management and plan to break out from local market comp sets.”

• Crowne Plaza Hartford - Downtown Hotel—Located at 50 Morgan Street, at the intersection of I-84 and I-91, near Dodge Music Center, XL Center and Connecticut Convention Center. The hotel offers free shuttle service to downtown Hartford and has a 24-hour business center, 8,815 square feet of meeting space, fitness center, outdoor pool and onsite Bistro Z Restaurant and Z Bar.
