Olympia Companies Selected to Manage Inn at Brunswick Station
April 4, 2011 - The Olympia Companies of Portland Maine are pleased to announce their selection by JHR Development to manage the Inn at Brunswick Station. The hotel is scheduled to open in June.
The Inn at Brunswick Station will be just steps away from the Bowdoin College campus, and JHR, in selecting The Olympia Companies, cited Olympia's depth of experience in the college campus market. Included in Olympia's resume are hotels supporting the campuses of Colby College, the University of Virginia and the University of New Hampshire. The group currently has active pipeline projects at the University of Chicago, Duke University and Rollins College and is clearly a front-runner in this evolving niche.
"It was important to us to choose a local organization,” said J. Hilary Rockett of JHR Development. “Olympia is based in Portland with a resume of hotels and inns that includes an example such as Inn By The Sea in Cape Elizabeth. Their commitment to quality and experience with colleges made them a great choice."
“We are very excited about working with JHR Development to help this project suit their specific campus-market needs and we're proud that JHR recognized Olympia's ongoing success with campus properties,” said Kevin Mahaney, president and chief executive officer of The Olympia Companies.
Designed as a classical New England inn, the Brunswick hotel's 52 guest rooms will offer flat-panel televisions, in-room coffee and wireless Internet service. Conference facilities will accommodate up to 125 people. Guests and local patrons will be invited to dine at the inn's tavern-style restaurant, which will feature outdoor patio seating.
The Inn at Brunswick Station will be part of the exciting Brunswick Station development that houses fine retail, office and dining establishments. In the near future, the station will also be a scheduled stop for Amtrak's Downeaster.
