July 20, 2011 - The Cedar House Sport Hotel, winner of the 2011 WoodWorks California Wood Design Award for innovation and excellence, knows how to deliver adventure. This is truer than ever before as Cedar House celebrates its fifth anniversary, www.StellaCulinary.com and the acquisition of Tahoe Trips & Trails.

“When we first opened Cedar House, it became evident that marrying Tahoe Trips & Trails with our business was an ideal match,” explains Patty Baird, co-owner of Cedar House Sport Hotel with her husband, Jeff. “Our concept was influenced by small, family run hotels found in the Alps, however, its design was inspired by nature. It is our belief that the psyche connects to all things real, so the materials chosen for Cedar House promote harmony between the structure and the natural world. Design plays a vital role in the underlying theme of the Cedar House - which is all about connections.”

Cedar House announces outdoor and culinary adventures for the upcoming season. “We live in a fast pace world, where technology has changed the methods of how we communicate and connect to one other. At Cedar House, we help our guests connect and reconnect to nature through outdoor adventures and wholesome ingredients,” Baird explains. Summer 2011 is only the beginning of Cedar House Sport Hotel's offerings. Expect new Tahoe-Truckee tours including three generational family tours (3G Tours) and dog hikes ("A day in the Life of a Tahoe Dog" and "Tails on the Trails"). The Summer Hiking Series includes an engaging professional guide knowledgeable in flora and geology, Stella Endurance Lunch, and transportation. The Active Gourmand Tour is the perfect four-day adventure for hikers who love to cook from August 7 to 11. While hiking with the spectacular backdrop of the Tahoe area, practice how to observe and capture extraordinary images in nature with fine art photographer Niobe Burden during the Lake Tahoe Photography and Hiking Adventure from August 18 to 21.
