Pelican Hill Appoints Frank Ashmore DoSM
August 2, 2011 - Pelican Hill® today announced the appointment of Frank Ashmore to the position of director of sales and marketing. Bringing more than two decades of hospitality expertise to this role, Ashmore will lead the Resort's sales and marketing efforts, overseeing leisure sales and group meetings business.

Prior to joining Pelican Hill, Ashmore contributed to the strategic repositioning of one of Arizona's most iconic resorts, The Wigwam, a Destination Hotels & Resorts property located in the West Valley of Greater Phoenix. As director of sales and marketing for The Wigwam, Ashmore oversaw rebranding initiatives across marketing, public relations, sales, catering and revenue management, in association with the 82-year-old property's $7-million rejuvenation.
Previously, Ashmore held several posts with Atlanta, Ga.-based West Paces Hotel Group, a luxury hotel management company. He initially served as director of sales and marketing, contributing to the strategic implementation of two new luxury hotel brands that included Solís Hotels & Resorts, and Capella Hotels & Resorts. Next, as general manager of the Greater Phoenix area's Carefree Resort & Villas, he successfully repositioned the conference resort as a full-service leisure and business hotel. After that, Ashmore became corporate operations director for West Paces Hotel Group.
Earlier in his career, Ashmore held various positions with the The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, ultimately serving as director of sales and marketing for The Ritz-Carlton Phoenix. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics, with minors in marketing and human resources, from University of Michigan-Dearborn.
