Kingsmore is the controller at Dunes Golf and Beach Club, Inc. in Myrtle Beach, S.C., where he has worked for 15 years. He is responsible for managing the financial and accounting, human resources, risk management, technology and administrative aspects of the club's operations. Prior to joining the Dunes Club, Kingsmore was an auditor with the South Carolina State Auditor's Office, performing audits of state agencies and universities.
“Becoming a CHAE was important to me because it demonstrates to my peers, my employer and the public my commitment to my career and competency and knowledge within the hospitality industry," said Kingsmore. "Maintaining the CHAE certification will enable me to stay current and to continue learning about issues relevant to my job and my industry.”
Along with his involvement with HFTP, he is also active in numerous organizations including: the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants (SCACPA), Grand Strand Optimist Club, Leadership Grand Strand and the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce.
Acknowledged throughout the industry, the CHAE certification elevates the professionalism of both the recipient and the industry by helping set standards for the field. Over 1,300 hospitality accountants from several countries have been certified since it began in 1981. HFTP recently launched an online practice exam for the CHAE which includes a sampling of actual CHAE exam questions that have been rewritten for examination preparation. The association also completed a four-part online CHAE review course that is still available for viewing on HFTP's web site. HFTP also administers the examination and awards the Certified Hospitality Technology Professional (CHTP).
