Luxe Hotels to Expand Portfolio with Addition of 6 Branded U.S. Properties by 2013
PHOENIX, ARIZONA - September 23, 2011 - Luxe Hotels announced today at The Lodging Conference, the hotel industry's premier conference and tradeshow for hotel industry executives, its plans for expanding the Luxe Hotel brand portfolio through the addition of six branded properties across the United States by 2013. The Luxe Hotels brand currently includes the Luxe Worldwide Hotels representation company, corporately owned properties in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills, and the first branded property in downtown Los Angeles.
At one of The Lodging Conference sessions titled, “Today's Independent Hotelier,” panelist Efrem Harkham, Luxe Hotels Founder and Chairman, amplified his goal of expanding his search for unique boutique hotels to join the Luxe Hotel portfolio of properties. The session, moderated by Lodging Magazine Editor Len Vermillion, included several high profile hotel executives as panelists.
Luxe Hotels' announcement comes on the heels of the transformation of The Holiday Inn City Center Hotel into a Luxe branded property, following a six-month, $12 million renovation. Since it became a Luxe branded property, the hotel has seen substantial growth, namely, with an increase of over 40% in room revenue.
Harkham, when speaking about the nearly 200 member properties of the Luxe Worldwide Hotels representation company said, “Increasingly, independent hotels are seeking revenue management support and this involves an integrated set of business processes that brings together people and systems with the goals of understanding the market, anticipating consumer behavior and with capabilities of quick response to exploit opportunities. The success of the Luxe Hotel global brand can be attributed in part to recognizing early on that independently-owned hotels demand and depend on a representation company that provides streamlined, personalized and experienced service.”
A differentiating element for independently-owned hotels wishing to align themselves with a global brand is that unlike most global hotel representation companies that are managed by corporations, Luxe Worldwide Hotels (LWH) is operated by a veteran hotelier, Harkham, a hotelier of nearly three decades who understands the challenges that individual property owners face and who is intimately aware of a hotel's nuanced needs based on his wealth of personal experience.
Said Charles Harris, Luxe Hotels' Vice President of Marketing, “What sets us apart is that we are truly invested in every hotel under our brand and we're small enough that we are acutely attuned to what each hotel under our brand needs to thrive.”
Adds Harkham, “The brand is in the right place to move forward and expand our portfolio of properties over the next several years.”
