Maritz Leaders to Share the Science and Art of Great Customer Experiences at Cornell Hospitality Research Summit

ST. LOUIS (Oct. 5, 2012) - Three Maritz leaders will share their insights on delivering great customer experiences during the upcoming Cornell Hospitality Research Summit. Rick Garlick, senior director of consulting and strategic implementation at Maritz Research, Mary Beth McEuen, vice president and executive director of The Maritz Institute, and David Peckinpaugh, president of Maritz Travel Company will share their expertise at the summit Oct 8 and 9 in Ithaca, NY.

On Monday, Oct. 8, Peckinpaugh will be an executive panelist for the Summit's “Keynote Session: CEO Panel,” tapping into his 15-plus years of sales and marketing experience in the hotel industry and as leader of one the largest global meetings, event and incentive-travel companies.

Also on Oct. 8, McEuen will present “The Social Life of Brands: How Neuroscience Can Help Hospitality Industry Marketers in Their Quest for Enduring Customer Relationships.” During her session, McEuen will share the ways in which hospitality industry leaders can build deeper, more lasting customer relationships by using a science-based approach to deliver social value. She will preview her presentation on her blog, People-Centered Business.

On Tues., Oct. 9, Garlick will present “Living Up to Your Hype: The (Mis) Alignment of Values, Rewards, and Service Delivery within the Hospitality Sector.” During his session, Garlick will reveal research on the connection between personal values and corporate values and the impact they have on employee effort, service quality and the guest experience. He will preview his presentation on the Maritz Research blog, Sound Check.

The Cornell Hospitality Research Summit is a bi-annual event organized by The Cornell Center for Hospitality Research. The summit was created to bring together hospitality leaders, industry related business and academics to exchange actionable idea and strategies. The summit includes more than 90 research-based presentations in addition to workshops from Oct. 8-9. This year The CHRS celebrates its 20th anniversary.
