Turnberry Isle Miami Announces New Food & Beverage Director
Legendary property selects industry veteran to oversee its esteemed culinary program
AVENTURA, FL - November 29, 2012 - Turnberry Isle Miami names Monti Felaya as the new Food & Beverage Director of the legendary resort & club. In this capacity, Felaya is responsible for managing and directing Turnberry Isle Miami's expanded culinary program that fuses the freshest ingredients from the onsite chef's garden and includes Chef Michael Mina's acclaimed BOURBON STEAK restaurant.
Felaya's 15-plus-year career in the food and beverage industry includes various positions at four- and five-star properties throughout the U.S. Before joining Turnberry Isle Miami, Felaya served as Director of Food & Beverage for New York-New York Las Vegas Hotel & Casino. Prior to this, he was the Director of Restaurants Development at the Wente Estate Winery in Livermore, Calif., where he created an award-winning wine list recognized by industry leaders including Wine Enthusiast and Wine Spectator.
Most notably, Felaya's experience includes his work as Assistant Director of Food & Beverage and Restaurant Manager at Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas. While there, he helped open Mix with three Michelin star Chef Alain Ducasse.
He received a bachelor's degree in Hotel and Tourism Management from the College of Hotel and Tourism at Helwan University, Cairo, Egypt.
