Nicky O Hotel Projects Dropped

. October 14, 2008

CHICAGO, IL, February 21, 2007. A Chicago developer who sued heiress Nicky Hilton for breach of contract has dropped his planned Nicky O Hotels in Chicago and Miami, the businessman says.

Falor Investments President Robert Falor said Chicago's Hotel Blake, which was to be converted, would likely remain as the Hotel Blake for the foreseeable future. The Nicky O condo hotel in development in Miami's posh South Beach area has been dropped too, a spokesman told Crain's Chicago Business.

Neither Hilton, 23, nor a representative was available for comment, Crain's said.

The boutique hotels had been touted as Hilton's debut in the family business, although the Nicky O brand would have been independent of Hilton Hotels.

Falor claims in his lawsuit Hilton and her manager, Paul Fisher, promised to promote the hotels' redevelopment and rebranding. Instead, he claims, he subsidized a lavish lifestyle for them, exceeding $1 million. The Nicky O South Beach Web site, which was down for upgrades when Falor sued Feb. 13, was not active Wednesday.
