2007 Board of Directors Elected at AAHOA Convention
MARCH 16, 2007. The Asian American Hotel Owners Association (AAHOA) held its 2007 election for the Treasurer position and various seats on its Board of Directors on March 10, 2007, in Charlotte, North Carolina, during AAHOA's Annual Convention and Trade Show.
Following a lively debate with five Treasurer candidates, on issues ranging from finance and governance to franchise relationships, members cast electronic ballots-a first for AAHOA-and elected ChandraKant I. "C.K." Patel, CHO, AAHOA Director at Large, as the AAHOA Treasurer for 2007.
Five incumbents won re-election to the Board of Directors, while other open seats were filled by newly-elected members. The incumbents are Anil N. Patel, elected to a three-year term as Gulf Regional Director; Bankim M. Patel, elected to a one-year term as South Pacific Regional Director; Hasu D. Patel, elected to a one-year term as South Texas Regional Director; Kaushik Patel, elected to a one year-term as Central Pacific Regional Director; and Vipin Patel, elected to a three-year term as Director at Large.
Newly-elected members of the AAHOA Board include three regional directors: Kirrit R. Bhikha, elected to a three-year term as Mid South Regional Director; Paul Patel, elected to a three-year term as Washington District Regional Director; and Suresh "Sam Sarpanch" Patel, elected to a three-year term as South Carolina Regional Director.
"Each position on the AAHOA Board of Directors is a volunteer position, and the board members donate their time and effort to make the association thrive," said Chairman Danny Patel. "I look forward to working with the 2007 Board of Directors to continue to build a stronger AAHOA as we pursue the goals and initiatives we began in 2006. We have much work to do this year, but I am confident that we have a strong and committed team of leaders and engaged and dedicated members who want to see us meet AAHOA's objectives and help move the association in the right direction for the good of all members."
