Cheapflights Gains Ground in US
MARCH 19, 2007. Cheapflights has streaked ahead of the competition in terms of brand awareness in the United States. Cheapflights came top of a survey ranking awareness of meta-search internet travel service providers. The flights expert was cited by 68% of survey participants, who were US adults who had travelled or researched travel in the past 12 months.
Cheapflights' nearest competitors - Travelzoo, Kayak and Sidestep - fell far behind the site, cited by 46%, 22% and 21% of participants, respectively.
Cheapflights CEO David Soskin said: "We've worked very hard on raising our profile in the US and worldwide in recent months. The survey highlights the territory we have gained against established players as well as new entrants. "We're particularly pleased with the high level of awareness given our strategy to gain profile through our service and content rather than vast investment in marketing."
