Grupo Hotusa President, Amancio López Seijas, Reveals Details of Eurostars Torre Bacatá 5* Opening in Bogota, Colombia
BARCELONA, SP. March 8, 2016 - Amancio López Seijas, president of Grupo Hotusa, announced further details regarding Eurostars Torre Bacatá 5* in Bogota (Colombia). This project is destined to become a benchmark in the Colombian hotel sector and an emblem of the group's presence in the Americas. Eurostars Torre Bacatá 5* will be the tallest hotel in Latin America, occupying 40 of the 66 floors in one of the towers in the BD Bacatá tower complex.
The president of the Spanish company defined the Eurostars Torre Bacatá 5* as “our most ambitious project since we opened the Eurostars Madrid Tower 5* in 2009, located in another iconic tower in Madrid.” Amancio López Seijas added, “We believe firmly that a project of this scope will help transform and fuel development in Bogota”.
Expected to open in late 2016, Eurostars Torre Bacatá 5* will feature a total of 323 rooms, including 19 suites, and more than 3,000 m2 of space for events and conventions between its 16 meeting rooms. Likewise, the establishment will also have a 550-m2 spa and wellness area and more than 800 m2 of food services spaces, with two restaurants and two lounge bars.
The future Eurostars Torre Bacatá 5* will be the third establishment the company manages in Bogota, in addition to Exe Bacatá 95 4* and Exe Santafe Boutique Hotel 5*, which joined the group just a few weeks ago. Nevertheless, López doesn't discard the possibility of announcing “other projects that are being studied in the country, not just in Bogota but also in other cities such as Medellin, Cartagena and Cali.” The group's hotel division, Eurostars Hotel Company, currently runs 148 establishments in 15 countries, through its chains Eurostars Hotels and Exe Hotels, including 15 establishments in the Americas: in Argentina (6), Mexico (5), the United States (2) and the two in Colombia.
Torre BD Bacatá, which will be home to Eurostars Torre Bacatá 5*, is an architectural complex owned by BD Bacatá and designed by prestigious Catalan architecture firm Alonso-Balaguer y Arquitectos Asociados. It features two towers, the one which will house the hotel being the tallest building in Colombia with a total of 114,384 m2. In addition to the hotel, the tower will also have 396 apartments, 117 offices, more than 700 parking spots and a shopping centre with 30 shops.
