Intercontinental David Tel Aviv Launches New Technology that Enables 2-Way, Real-Time Communication between Guests & Staff

. October 27, 2016

TEL AVIV, IL. October 27, 2016 - The InterContinental David Tel Aviv, a one-of-a-kind destination hotel inspired by its Mediterranean Sea views, recently introduced a new technology - Routier - that will now allow the hotel team to connect, communicate and share information with its guests in real time. The technology transforms the hotel Wi-Fi network into a two-way communication system that will prompt guests with a customized satisfactory survey. A simple click of the unsatisfactory button within the pop-up bubble will allow the InterContinental David Tel Aviv team to remedy any issues guests may have.

“It is our top priority to cater to the needs of our guests, which is why we are thrilled to be working with Routier to offer this one-of-a-kind technology linked through our Wi-Fi,” said David Cohen, general manager of the InterContinental David Tel Aviv. “We worked closely with Routier to customize a dropdown menu that fits the needs of our guests and is specific to our property. As a result, we will now be able to problem solve in real time, enhancing the experience of those who stay with us in Tel Aviv.”

The pop-up satisfaction survey will be a small, non-invasive bubble that becomes visible to guests once they join the hotel's Wi-Fi from their computer, mobile device, or tablet. If satisfied, they will be encouraged to leave a review on Trip Advisor. If dissatisfied, guests will be prompted with a drop down menu to help remedy the issue. Options on this dropdown menu include: making a dinner reservation, ordering more towels to the room, booking a spa treatment, and more. Routier has a security certificate from Cisco, which not only provides the technology with a stamp of approval, but offers guests piece of mind that their network is secure.

"We know that in today's digital world guests are connected to their devices at all times and have access to a plethora of information, such as online reviews, 24/7. As a result of this, hotels need to make sure that each and every guest who enters their property receives the best possible experience. We feel that this means the hotel team needs to be able to engage seamlessly with guests to monitor satisfaction levels at all times; therefore when something is not going right, it can be fixed. This is only one aspect of our solution, and we are excited to bring this technology to the InterContinental David Tel Aviv!”

Routier is now available at the InterContinental David Tel Aviv. Guests who are members of IHG® Rewards can access Wi-Fi for free. There is no cost associated with registering for IHG® Rewards.
