First $1 million Booking;
ORLANDO, FL, January 16, 2008. When the Association of College & University Telecommunication Administrators (ACUTA) headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky, began exploring large-scale venues to host the organization's 40th Annual Conference scheduled May 1-5, 2011, the significance of choosing Bonnet Creek was an opportunity they would not let pass by. The 2,000 member organization has reserved the new $550 million Bonnet Creek in Orlando, Florida, the largest Hilton development in the company's history, to host the $1 million conference.
"We are very excited to be the first group to sign at Hilton Bonnet Creek and a part of the premiere destination resort in Florida," explains ACUTA Executive Director Jeri Semer. "The historical component of the adjacent The Waldorf=Astoria(R) Orlando Resort, paired with the superior service we anticipate from both brands, will make for an unforgettable conference in 2011."
The Hilton Bonnet Creek will offer 122,000 square feet of meeting space including the 36,000 square foot Grand Ballroom and 27,000 square foot Junior Ballroom for hosting corporate and social functions. One Executive Boardroom and two Designated Boardrooms will accommodate up to 24 executives each. A total of 48 meeting rooms will welcome groups with the latest in meetings audio visual technology and expertly trained support.
Both the Hilton Bonnet Creek and The Waldorf=Astoria Orlando Resort will have shared amenities including 152,000 square feet of meeting space in a conference facility, a Rees Jones-designed 18-hole championship golf course with 20,000-square-foot clubhouse with restaurant and locker facilities, 80-acre state-protected wetland preserve and a 24,000-square-foot Waldorf=Astoria Spa by Guerlain and fitness center.
