  1. French President Sarkozy chose the historical resort town of Wolfeboro on Lake Winnipesaukee for his summer vacation in August - drawing media from around the world.

  2. 'Hut to hut hiking on the Appalachian Trail in New Hampshire' The Appalachian Mountain Club's story on the network of lodges on the Trail through the White Mountains received more coverage than any other story in recent memory.

  3. Complementing that theme, Cathedral Ledge earned 'Best of the East' recognition for outdoor adventure from Men's Journal in October.

  4. New Hampshire's perennial story 'the glories of fall foliage' won coverage from the AP (a story on the best foliage road trips) and from USA Today which cited Tourism's www.VisitNH.gov as an innovative leaf-peeper website

  5. 'Snow first, stories on the challenge of no snow' in January (AP), then the thrill of early snow and great forecast for 2008 prompted a 30-minute segment on The Weather Channel's 'Weatherventures' program to close out the year in December.

  6. A top-level Congressional 'Climate Summit' in June atop Cannon Mountain drew national AP coverage to the discussion of the effects of global warming on tourism, recreation and agriculture in New England.

  7. The Balsams cuisine earns perfect culinary score on 2007 Gold List -- Conde Nast Traveler (Inn at Thorn Hill in Jackson Village also makes the list and Wentworth By the Sea is noted as 'One to watch' (January.)

  8. 'Civil unions and gay-friendly inns ' A San Francisco Chronicle syndicated story in September was followed by widening media attention in December on the eve of the legalization of civil unions in New Hampshire on January 1, 2008.

  9. 'Where Pumpkins Reign' was the title of Country Living's feature story in the October 2007 issue on the Annual Keene Pumpkin Festival.

  10. And on another holiday note, Martha Stewart Living showcased the joys of cutting your own Christmas tree at The Rocks Estate in Bethlehem in the December issue.
