PALM SPRINGS, CA, August 22, 2005. The Parker Palm Springs resort announces its newest selection of ultra "chic-and-cheap" rooms, called "the SQ" (pronounced s-kew). The SQ offers ultra-chic 20-somethings a chance to stay at the 5-star hotel, enjoy all of the amenities of the resort, property, spa, restaurants, bar and lounge areas, but never to pay top dollar.

The SQ rooms range in size, but are all roomy and have the same design elements, special touches and "Happy Luxe" feeling famed interior "guru" Jonathan Adler has created for the entire property. The SQ rooms feature all of the luxuries and amenities of every other 5-star resort room - including the four -framed beds, plush feather bed, duvet and sheet sets as well as the full-sized amenities from Hermes, Peter Thomas Roth and Molton Brown to name drop a few. And while the views from the SQ may not be as breathtaking as say, those in a villa, with 13 acres of gorgeous property, two outdoor pools with mountain views, hammocks and seated fire pits - there is enough view to go around. And who's thinking of the view while eating macaroni and cheese with lobster chunks at Norma's - the first and only 5-star diner in the desert.

Originally these rooms were used by the hotel executives, corporate officers, associates and Jonathan Adler's design team, but the hotel decided to offer them to a special section of the traveling public. These rooms are going to be a hot commodity and the hotel is prepared to be careful in terms of not advertising and marketing them within the traditional travel channels. "We realize that this age demographic will be the earners of the future, and we have a great property that appeals to them, so why not offer a special deal now and make loyal customers out of them at a young age," says Steven Pipes, Vice President of the Jack Parker Corporation.

Upon reservation, each potential guest will need to fax over a photo ID and a current pay stub. "We want to be true to the customers we have promised this special offer to - it is like a junior membership at a country club and we must be certain that they really qualify for this special," says Thomas Meding, Hotel Manager. "Each guest is treated as any other, having full access to the 13 lush acres, 144 rooms (including 12 villas and the two-bedroom Gene Autry house), two restaurants, PSYC - a 16,500 sq. ft spa, a state of the art gym and 4 pools." The hotel will also welcome each SQ guest with a special welcome cocktail - "The Mrs. Parker" (provided they are 21). The price per room will vary according to age, income and season, but one can be assured they will not pay the higher rates found throughout the rest of the hotel.
