Anna Lawrence Joins Hawks Cay Resort as Director of Sales

New Hire Brings New Approach to the Sales Team to Attract Groups Amid Covid

USA, Duck Key, Florida. September 29, 2020

Hawks Cay Resort, an iconic destination resort in the Florida Keys, announces the appointment of Anna Lawrence as the resort's new director of sales. Having worked in various properties throughout the Florida Keys for nearly a decade, Lawrence brings a deep understanding of the local market and experience implementing innovative sales campaigns.

"The ability to create and drive fresh sales campaigns is imperative for the success of Hawks Cay Resort as we continue to adapt to new market trends and traveler preferences," said Sheldon Suga, Hawks Cay Resort regional vice president and managing director. "Anna brings those qualities with her and we look forward to her contributions to our sales team."

Lawrence knows the resort well as she began her career in hospitality at Hawks Cay Resort as a summer intern in 2011. She rejoins the resort from Ocean Properties, where she was regional director of group sales responsible for the entire portfolio of their Florida Keys properties. She has worked in various positions at several well-known Florida Keys resorts, including Hyatt Place at Faro Blanco and Islamorada Resort Collection, where she successfully developed campaigns that increased overall revenue growth.

In her new role at Hawks Cay Resort, Lawrence will lead a new sales initiative to promote and support groups and events post pandemic. The first phase of the program launches this week with a new online portal where meeting planners can connect with a resort representative from the comfort of their own home for a virtual tour.

"We're looking for ways to keep Hawks Cay top of mind for planners who are looking to relocate groups in the short-term and reach others who are scouting locations for events that are further out," said Lawrence. "Hawks has the largest group capacity in the Florida Keys, and the resort is perfectly set up for hosting group experiences in the new normal with multiple outdoor venues in addition to large indoor spaces."

Although planners can't personally visit the resort, Hawks Cay's new virtual tours provide as close to a personal tour as possible offering planners a chance to see the Hawks Cay experience. To access the virtual tours, please visit https://www.hawkscay.com/conferences-meetings-events.

Hotel Spa: Immense Transformation

There is no doubt that the Hotel Spa industry is undergoing an immense transformation as a result of the pandemic. New cleanliness standards for facilities, new safety standards for employees, and new ways of interacting with guests are now the New Normal, and will be for the foreseeable future. Given that some former patrons might be reluctant to return due to safety concerns, some spas are offering contactless experiences that utilize high-tech technologies to address wellness concerns like sleep, stress, pain, and immunity. Other spas are expanding their services to include life coaches, osteopaths, psychologists, and nutrition counselors in an effort to help their guests achieve a balanced lifestyle. Some spas are tapping into traditional Asian rituals to create programs such as sound healing, chakra balancing, and intuitive energy reading. Other programs emphasize re-connecting with Nature and have developed outdoor treatments such as Star Bathing, Feet in the Creek, and Treehouse meditations. The July issue of the Hotel Business Review will document what some hotel spas are doing to promote and manage their operations so guests can safely return for their health, wellness and beauty treatments.
