Colombia, Bogota City, Bogota. June 15, 2022

W Bogota, part of Marriott International's portfolio, is without a doubt the most sought-after rebellious luxury and lifestyle hotel by travelers that are eager for extraordinary experiences with personalized service in Bogotá, as seen in the hotel's motto WHATEVER/ WHENEVER.

Since its opening, W Bogota has been a hotel committed to diversity and inclusion. It has also been characterized by its constant search for innovative experiences that can enrich its guests' trips in which everyone feels welcome. Therefore, in alliance with M·A·C Cosmetics, W Bogota is pleased to announce the launch of the Pride Suite, an exclusive experience that will be available for the first time in Bogotá and through which both brands will commemorate the month of LGBTQ+ Pride.

Marriott International was one of the first hotel chains to offer equal benefits for same-sex couples in the United States, and in 2018 became the first global hotel company to endorse the landmark United Nations LGBTQ+ Standards of Business Conduct, designed to address worldwide discrimination against people in the LGBTQ+ community.

The Pride Suite of W Bogota and M·A·C Cosmetics can be experienced by the Loud & Proud package, where groups of friends can participate in an exclusive make-up class with a M·A·C Cosmetics professional in one of hotel suites, while enjoying cocktails and snacks inspired by the celebration of pride. Each session includes the necessary materials for the class, which will last 90 minutes, in which the professional will guide the participants on the correct techniques to achieve a makeup allusive to Pride.

Participants will be able to enjoy the Linner (night brunch), a concept inspired by the street cuisine of the world, with food stations including a variety of national and international dishes wrapped in colorful neon lights and a fair-like distribution that extends from the Lounge to the Jairo restaurant. In addition to the gastronomy, guests will be able to taste a variety of cocktails and live DJs, as well as a vibrant decoration with ideal spaces to capture the best moments and pictures.

"W Hotels is a brand that is characterized by offering luxury in a bold and disruptive way, and in LGBTQ+ Pride Month we want to emphasize that promise with an initiative that will be available for the first time in Colombia, and for which we have partnered with M·A·C Cosmetics, a company that shares our same values of respect, diversity and celebration.

The launch of the Pride Suite and the experiences that we will have in property, as well as the donation of part of the sales of our Loud & Proud and Love Out Loud packages to the Amor Real Foundation, are actions in this sense", said Gustavo Lovera, General Manager of W Bogota.

The Pride Suite will be available for groups of up to 6 people, on Fridays and Saturdays in June, as well as on July 1 and 2, 2022.

"We have always been a loud and proud part of the LGBTIQA+ community since 1984 - and we have never stopped. We want to celebrate the pride of this great community with the lipstick that donates 100% of its profits", says Carolina Guerrero, Brand Manager M·A·C Colombia LDM.

In addition, the W Bogota launched a package called Love Out Loud, which includes a stay for 2 adults, two special welcome cocktails and colorful amenities alluding to Pride, including a makeup kit from M·A·C Cosmetics. This package is priced at $1,154,000 per couple and will be available during June.

Solidarity Pride

For the sale of each Loud & Proud experience and each Love Out Loud package, the hotel will donate $50,000 to the Amor Real Foundation.

In this way, the hotel recognizes the work of the non-profit organization, which not only helps homeless people, including people from the LGBTQ+ community, at critical times, but also opens a path full of possibilities for social and work adaptation.

Mobile Technology: New Era of Digital Transformation

Though it's difficult to ascribe any affirmative value to the pandemic, it did push the hotel industry into a new era of digital transformation. Out of necessity, hotels quickly adopted all forms of mobile technology, as a means to minimize the risks of infection and to maximize a seamless guest experience. The goal was to reduce guest touchpoints but still deliver access to all property services, while maintaining social distancing measures. As a consequence, mobile technology providers created next-gen products and services like never before. In addition to mobile check-in/out, mobile room keys, and contactless payment methods, hotels are now implementing branded concierge apps, guest messaging platforms, enhanced translation devices, and website chat bots. Smart rooms, voice and facial recognition, robotics, and A.I. technologies are on the near horizon. The January Hotel Business Review will report on how some hotels are integrating mobile technologies into their operations to provide their guests with a ground-breaking digital experience.
