Boutique Appoints Director Culture and People Development

NOVEMBER 27, 2007. As part of its commitment to deliver unique experiences in iconic destinations around British Columbia, Boutique Hotels & Resorts of British Columbia is pleased to announce the appointment of Christine McLeod as Director of Culture and People Development. McLeod will be in charge of developing and implementing an overall strategic human resources strategy that will set Boutique Hotels in a class apart when it comes to employee experience.

A veteran of the travel and tourism industry, McLeod comes to Boutique Hotels from Intrawest Corporation where she held the position of Director of People Development for the resort operation's 175-store retail division. During her 11-year tenure, McLeod's innovative and results-oriented programs have garnered numerous awards including three National Retail Council Awards and the US National Ski Resorts Association's Customer Service Award for service training program design, implementation and results. McLeod holds a graduate certificate in HR Management from Royal Roads University.

Boutique Hotels & Resorts of British Columbia opened The Cove Lakeside Resort in Westbank in 2006, and Victoria's Oswego Hotel this past May. The 77-room Nita Lake Lodge, Whistler's finest and most exclusive boutique hotel set at the base of Whistler's Creekside, is set to open in December followed by the L'Hermitage in downtown Vancouver in 2008.
