Kiwi Welcomes Sonu Shivdasani to Advisory Board
Six Senses Chairman and CEO
NOVEMBER 26, 2007. The newest addition to the esteemed Kiwi Collection Advisory Board is Sonu Shivdasani, Chairman and CEO of Six Senses Group - a resort and spa management company which oversees the luxurious Soneva, Six Senses Hideaway and Six Senses Latitude (previously Evason), and Six Senses Spa brands. Joining the ranks of other prominent Kiwi Collection Advisory Board members, including Gamal Aziz (MGM Grand Hospitality), Reto Wittwer (Kempinski Hotels) and Matthew Upchurch (Virtuoso) to name a few, Shivdasani will share his insight on sustainable tourism, raising awareness within the group on current topics such as carbon neutral development and alternative energy sources - both practices he currently implements within Six Senses Group. Kiwi Collection, a Web-based luxury travel resource (www.kiwicollection.com), is where discerning travelers go to find the world's best accommodations and insider travel advice.
"The Kiwi Collection welcomes Sonu Shivdasani to our coveted Advisory Board with open arms," said Philippe Kjellgren, President of Kiwi Collection, Inc. and Mary Gostelow, Editor-in-Chief of WOW Travel. "His success in re-branding the Six Senses Group over the years is astounding, as is his determination to become a key player in tourism sustainability."
Shivdasani founded Six Senses together with his wife, Eva, after a two-year induction into the family business in West Africa and Europe. In 1991, he became a shareholder in Pavilion Resorts, which later extended to full ownership, eventually reshaping the company into the highly respected Six Senses Resorts & Spas group that it is today. Shivdasani's first resort was built in the Maldives, introducing the Soneva brand, soon followed by the Evason brand, initially in Thailand and Vietnam, and then Six Senses Spas. British-born Shivdasani holds a M.A. in English Literature from Oxford University.
