Woodhouse Set to Open The Hotel at The Moore in Miami’s Design District
WoodHouse has announced that The Moore in the Miami Design District has officially begun its re-opening. The iconic landmark enters its next century as a new cultural destination, complete with a private members club, public restaurant, boutique hotel, executive offices and gallery space.
One of the most recognizable façades in the city, The Moore was built in 1922 during the 1920s Florida Land Boom on a former pineapple farm and estate, and would influence the development and design of the surrounding area for 100 years to come.
Occupying a nearly 90,000-square-foot space, each floor of The Moore is dedicated to offering visitors unique, exciting social and cultural experiences. A love for art and design is suffused across every story. Rising up from the ground floor and gracing the entire structure is Zaha Hadid's Elastika, the site-specific commission created by the late artist and architect for the inaugural Design Miami/ in 2005.
The Hotel at The Moore - Opening Late Spring 2024 On the fourth floor and opening early this summer is The Hotel at The Moore, offering high-touch service and 13 hotel suites that provide access to all of The Club's amenities. Each suite is spacious and includes luxurious accommodations, with most rooms spanning approximately 700 square feet, while the grandest suites exceed 1,000 square feet. Members of The Club gain access to bookings. Reservations for non-members are available by request.
The Club at The Moore - Now Open to Members Located on the second floor is The Club at The Moore, a private, members-only destination inclusive of a restaurant led by executive chef and South Florida native Joe Anthony, most recently the culinary director at the two Michelin-starred Gabriel Kreuther in New York City; a house art collection, curated by Miami art advisor and collector Monica Kalpakian, showcasing mixed media works by noted artists including Derek Fordjour, Sonia Gomes, Gabriel Orozco, Rob Pruitt, Cindy Sherman, Carrie Mae Weems, and others; and multiple bars and lounges, which offer an array of cocktails curated by internationally renowned mixologist Nico de Soto.
The Club offers a social atmosphere unlike any other in the city, accented by sophisticated, eclectic programming. Unique club amenities include a hidden cocktail lounge, a karaoke room with outlandish, custom murals by artist Ryoto Unna, and multiple private dining rooms. Striking a balance between work and play, The Workplace on the third floor offers rentable private executive offices, dedicated desks and limited communal workplace access, available for members only.
Elastika - Opening Late April 2024 Anchoring the first floor of The Moore is an all-day dining concept, also led by executive chef Joe Anthony. Open to the public and set under Zaha Hadid's installation, Elastika was named in honor of the monumental sculpture and promises dinner with a one-of-a-kind view.
The Gallery The fourth floor is home to The Gallery, a 4,500-square foot exhibition and event space that overlooks the building's central Elastika atrium. Art is central to The Moore, with museum-quality art throughout the building loaned by top collectors and rotating installations year-round.
Breathing new life into The Moore is hospitality concept developer and operator, WoodHouse. Founded by entrepreneur Brady Wood, WoodHouse creates, owns and operates experiential concepts, ranging from private clubs, restaurants and hotels to live music and entertainment venues.
The Club and The Hotel's design was led by the agency Studio Collective. The design of the Elastika restaurant was led by design firm, ICRAVE.
