Ann Arbor Marriott Completes Renovation

. October 14, 2008

NOVEMBER 20, 2007. The Ann Arbor Marriott Ypsilanti at Eagle Crest recently completed a multi-million dollar renovation throughout the 235 room hotel, reinforcing the hotel's commitment to its guests. The renovations, encompassing the complete interior of the hotel, give the hotel a new, modern twist on hospitality.

All guestrooms and ballrooms were renovated, as well as the concierge lounge. A brand new 1,000 square foot fitness room, overlooking the championship 18-hole golf course designed by Karl Litten, was also included in the expansive renovation. In addition, a Garden Terrace was incorporated into the renovation which adds another venue for social events or outdoor weddings.

The Ypsilanti hotel further connected with the guest by utilizing Marriott's new "great room" concept of defining space in the hotel into zones. Guests first experience the concept as they enter the lobby. The "welcome" zone is an area, centered around a free-standing fireplace, which gives business travelers a space where they can engage in social business or relaxing work. The "social" zone features the hotel's new restaurant and bar, The View. And, the "business" zone consists of a revamped business center with a 32" flat-screen television, three flat-screen computers and a multi-functional work space.

"We are proud to offer the finest resort south-eastern Michigan has to offer," General Manager Tom Lamb said. "The extensive renovation complements our superior service, offering an incredible experience for both business and leisure travelers."

The newly-designed guest rooms include the luxurious Revive(R) Collection bedding, which include: pillow-top mattresses, 300 thread count sheets, a down comforter snuggled inside a custom duvet cover and fluffier pillows to absorb fatigue. The rooms also feature the latest in technology by allowing guests to "Plug & Play," connecting personal laptops or entertainment equipment into the guest room's 32" HDTV.

The new President Gerald R. Ford ballroom and the new Elizabeth Ann Ford junior-ballroom have been designed with comfort of the meeting attendee in mind. Rounding out the renovation, guests can enjoy the spacious concierge lounge where complimentary breakfast and evening hors d'ourves are served.
