ALEXANDRIA, VA, November 16, 2007. The newly-renovated Hawthorn Suites Alexandria, VA at 420 North Van Dorn Street near historic Old Town Alexandria held a Grand Re-Opening Celebration on Wednesday, November 14, 2007.

Managed by Saunders Hotel Group, LLC, the hotel welcomed guest speakers Stephanie Brown, President of the Alexandria Convention and Visitors Association (ACVA), Roy E. Flora, Chief Operating Officer of US Franchise Systems, Inc., parent company and franchisor of the Hawthorn Suites brand; Christine Michaels, President of the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce; and Jeffrey Saunders, President of Saunders Hotel Group.

The hotel's multi-million dollar transformation focused on creating a stylish, contemporary d'ecor and adding numerous guest comforts and conveniences throughout. Renovation highlights include a new lobby and trend-setting design for the public areas with the latest technology, and numerous upgrades to the hotel's 185 spacious studio, one- and two-bedroom suite accommodations. Each suite includes a full kitchen or kitchenette, and all suites are 100 percent smoke-free. The Hawthorn Suites Alexandria VA is a proud participant in the internationally-known Hyatt's Gold Passport(R) rewards program.
