Millennium Names Two Executives
David Renker, SVPOSM and Edgar Elliott, VPDD
NEW YORK, NY, November 9, 2007. Millennium Hotels & Resorts is pleased to announce two new appointments to its corporate management team: David Renker as Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing and Edgar Elliott as Vice President of Design & Development. The appointments come as Millennium steps up its renovation program, starting with a combined $50 million investment in the renovations of the Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel in Chicago and the Millennium Bostonian Hotel in Boston.
David Renker, Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing
A bright hospitality talent with 20 years of experience in the industry, Renker, 44, is responsible for the sales and marketing of Millennium properties throughout the Americas. He joined Millennium following an eight-year run at Destination Hotels & Resorts where he first served as Regional Vice President of Sales & Marketing overseeing the company's western portfolio, then as Vice President of Sales & Marketing working on acquisitions and re-positionings as well as overseeing national sales. Previously, Renker was a Regional Director of Sales & Marketing for Starwood Hotels & Resorts, based at the Westin St. Francis in San Francisco, from 1992-1999. In 2006 Renker was voted one of the Top 25 Sales & Marketing Minds in America by Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International.
A native of San Diego, CA, Renker earned a business degree in marketing from San Diego State University in 1985. He will be based in Millennium's new corporate office in San Francisco, CA.
Edgar Elliott, Vice President of Design and Development
A talented hospitality professional with 25 years of experience in development at sizeable hotel companies, Elliott, 47, is responsible for overseeing the design and purchasing for Millennium Hotels & Resorts. He joins Millennium from Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, where he spent the past 14 years as Director of Pre-Opening & Capital Projects. Previously, Elliott was Special Capital Projects Manager with Hilton Hotels Corporation, based at the San Francisco Hilton, from 1991-1993; a Project Manager with Hyatt Hotels Corporation, based at the Grand Hyatt Union Square in San Francisco, from 1989-1991; and a Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment Project Coordinator with Hilton Hotels, based at the San Francisco Hilton, from 1985-1988. Elliott got his start in hospitality in 1983 as an Assistant Project Manager at Hotel Systems International.
A native and current resident of San Francisco, Elliott earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Puget Sound in 1982.
