Millennium Names DOSM for Millennium UN Plaza
NEW YORK, NY, November 7, 2007. Millennium Hotels & Resorts is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Newman as Director of Sales & Marketing at Millennium UN Plaza, New York. Bringing more than a decade of hospitality sales and marketing experience to his new position, Newman oversees all sales, marketing, catering and convention services at the 427-room hotel located in the pulsing global heart of Midtown on Manhattan's East Side.

Newman comes to Millennium from Doubletree Guest Suites-Times Square, where he led sales efforts for the only all-suite hotel in the bustling tourist center of New York City. Previously, he enjoyed a 12-year tenure with Hyatt Hotels & Resorts, including as Director of Sales & Marketing at Grand Hyatt New York; Director of Sales & Marketing at the Hyatt Regency Jersey City, New Jersey; and various managerial sales posts at Hyatt properties in the Washington, DC, area.
A native of Long Island, NY, Newman earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Hospitality Management from Johnson & Wales University in 1994. He currently resides in Long Island, NY, with his wife Kerrianne and his 15-month-old son Aidan.
