Outrigger Names Senior Sales Manager
HONOLULU, HI, October 23, 2007. Mahealani Jimenez has been named senior sales manager for Outrigger's two beachfront hotels on Oahu, the Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach and Outrigger Reef of the Beach. In her new position, she oversees both FIT and group sales for both upscale properties.
A graduate of Kamehameha Schools, Jimenez previously spent 11 years with Kimpton Hotels in San Francisco where she served in various positions of increasing responsibility in operations, conference services and sales management.
"Mahealani's strong island roots coupled with more than a decade of experience in the hotel industry make her a valuable addition to our team," said Roy Cordeiro, director of sales and marketing for Outrigger's beachfront hotels. "She joins us at a particularly exciting time, with the newly completed phases of the Outrigger Reef coming on line, and innovative new guest programs being introduced at the Outrigger Waikiki."
Undergoing a $100 million makeover, the Outrigger Reef unveiled its new 200-room Ocean Tower, re-opened its enhanced fitness center, and finished its spacious lobby and sit-down check-in desk over the past few months. Expected soon are new shops and services, VIP pool services, sitting room and cultural library.
The improvements at Outrigger Reef rolled out shortly after its sister property, the Outrigger Waikiki, completed a $20 million improvement project of its own. Since then, Outrigger Waikiki has launched a number of new educational programs for guests and the community in partnership with such organizations and individuals as the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration; Hawaii's leading musicians, including Ledward Kaapana and Bryan Tolentino; and cultural practitioners and experts such as historian/artist Herb Kawainui Kane and designer Sig Zane.
