Magna Appoints COO
SEPTEMBER 25, 2007. Magna Hospitality Group, LC announced today the promotion of Felicia Comer to Chief Operating Officer. Magna created the role of COO to focus control of the company's operations in one position and to recognize Comer for her contributions to the company's recent success.
"It is with great pleasure, excitement and extreme personal pride that I announce Felicia Comer's promotion to Chief Operating Officer for Magna Hospitality," said Bob Indeglia, Magna Hospitality President and CEO. "Felicia has served as a member of the Magna executive committee for several years and has been an integral part of Magna's tremendous growth. I have come to rely on Felicia's talents and expertise. As Chief Operating Officer, Felicia will be responsible for overseeing the operations side of Magna's business and to ensure that the operations team is working in concert with all aspects of Magna's business model."
Magna Hospitality has always been a successful real estate development company, as well a highly regarded hotel management company. One of Magna Hospitality's goals over the past four years was to bring the development and hotel management sides of the business closer together. With Felicia Comer's dedicated support as part of Magna's executive committee, that goal was achieved, and Magna Hospitality has seen tremendous success and growth. In the past year alone, Magna has added eight new properties to its portfolio in markets across the country, put a number of other development projects in the works, and launched a new investment fund. Turning operations over to Felicia Comer ensures operational continuity while enabling CEO Bob Indeglia to focus on more global development projects and expand Magna's growing investor base.
Since joining Magna in May 2002, Felicia Comer has held several roles including Director National Sales, Director Marketing, and most recently, Vice President Sales & Marketing. Ms. Comer was responsible for top lines revenues, advertising and public relations for Magna and its portfolio of hotels. She has over 16 years of operational and sales and marketing experience in the hospitality industry.
Prior to joining Magna, Ms. Comer worked for Marriott International, Grand Heritage Hotels, which was acquired by Patriot American Hospitality in 1998 and later merged with Wyndham International.
