SEPTEMBER 11, 2007. Luis Fernandes, Senior Vice President of Hotel Operations for Kor Hotel Group, the Los Angeles-based hotel, real estate development and management firm, is pleased to announce two new senior management appointments at The Tides Zihuatanejo, its newest luxury resort on Mexico's Pacific Coast (formerly Hotel Villa del Sol). Carlos Blanco has been appointed General Manager and Rodrigo Caldeira has recently been appointed Resort Manager.

'Both Carlos and Rodrigo represent valuable new components in our re-branding efforts for our newest Tides property,' said Fernandes in making the announcement. 'They each have opening experience at top resorts in the region, a task akin to the reinvention currently underway at The Tides Zihuatanejo. As we continue to align the resort's standards with The Tides brand, we know our on-site senior management will lead with passion and creativity.'

Carlos Blanco brings to his position as General Manager two decades of luxury hotel and resort experience, including ten years in senior management positions with Rosewood Hotels & Resorts. Most recently he served as Managing Director at Jumby Bay, an exclusive resort named '#1 Hotel in the Caribbean' by Travel + Leisure's 'World's Best 2007' readers' survey awards.

An intrepid hospitality veteran, Blanco was part of the opening team at Las Ventanas al Paraiso, the renowned resort in Los Cabos, Mexico, where he served as Rooms Division Manager for seven years. Among his many contributions, Caldeira helped open Fiesta Americana's Grand Aqua in Los Cabos, Mexico.

Caldeira began his hospitality career as Restaurant Manager at Gala Deluxe Resort in 2003. He holds an Associate Degree in Management of Hotel Operations from the Ecole Hoteli`ere de Lausanne in Switzerland and a Master's in Tourism Administration awarded by top tourism institutes in his native Portugal.
