Hilton to Revive Brand in Britain

. October 14, 2008

LONDON, UK, October 3, 2006. Within the next two weeks Hilton will launch its two brand new sleek and modern lifestyle hotels in London and Manchester, as part of a multi-million pound revival of the international brand in the UK and Ireland.

Hilton arrives on the doorstep of major city icons Hilton London Tower Bridge will open on October 3 and Hilton Manchester Deansgate on October 9. Daringly different to many Hilton properties in the UK and Ireland portfolio, the two hotels reflect the company's move towards 'new look' contemporary and design-led lifestyle hotels. The opening of the Hilton London Canary Wharf in July this year was the first of this style of hotel to launch in the UK.

Hilton's President for the UK and Ireland, Howard Friedman said, " Through these exciting new developments we aim to deliver what today's guest demands - fantastic modern facilities for both business and leisure, with an element of luxury and surprise." Howard said.

The Hilton London Tower Bridge is the perfect addition to its environment in the More London development. The 245-room hotel is ideally located on the City's doorstep whilst only being a short hop from the trendiest bars and restaurants in Southwark and the West End.

Hilton Manchester Deansgate will bring a flavour of Scandinavian chic and classic 50s style, to the city's horizon when it opens its doors on October 9. The full service deluxe Hilton will occupy the first 23 floors of the landmark Beetham Tower with Cloud 23, the jewel in the hotel's crown, occupying the 23rd floor enjoying magnificent views over the city and beyond.

In addition to the new openings, Hilton in the UK and Ireland has an extensive capital expenditure programme underway which will see more than lb70 million invested in 2006. Recently Hilton announced new management contracts in Reading, Wembley, Chester, Limerick and Dublin Kilmainham.

"Investment will drive regeneration across our extensive portfolio, which includes the exclusive glamour of Park Lane in London, a range of popular airport and rail station hotels and rural retreats such as Dunkeld in Scotland," Howard added.
