Nearly $1 Billion of Expected Investment

OCTOBER 4, 2006. Over the next three years, Renaissance Hotels & Resorts' owners and franchisees will continue to enhance the brand throughout North America with nearly $1 billion of investment expected in new construction, property conversions and renovation projects.

The Renaissance brand continues to experience an evolution, establishing the irreverent and whimsical Renaissance as a leader in hotel brands in the U.S. Founded on the pillars of Expressive Destination, Delightful Luxury, and Savvy Service, the Renaissance brand is committed to enhancing the enjoyment of travel through individualistic hotels that embrace stylish design, attentive and respectful service, imaginative food, reassuring quality and sophisticated technology.

Key brand standards and initiatives that are being incorporated at all Renaissance hotels include:

o the Renaissance 'Great Room' concept, transforming hotel lobbies from a means of access into inviting and comfortable spaces of relaxation, community and entertainment with dining options, Wi-Fi access for pleasurable business and distinctive leisure zones featuring local design signatures, architectural details, and uniquely Renaissance sounds and scents;

o an emphasis on healthy living with "Eat, Drink, Balance" heart healthy menus and expanded "wellness zones" featuring fitness centers offering the latest in equipment and spas that both pamper and promote well- being;

o comfortable yet lively restaurants and bars that offer guests and local customers imaginative food, signature cocktails and an inviting and accessible gathering place to entertain and delight the senses;

o the upgrade of all guestrooms to incorporate the new Renaissance Revive bedding package featuring luxurious down featherbeds, down comforters encased in soft duvets and highlighted with richly colored bed scarves, and other accents incorporated into the new Renaissance Red and Blue room styles;
