Resort at Pelican Hill Names VPSM

NEWPORT COAST, CA, August 9, 2007. Ellen D. Adelman has been tapped to serve as vice president of sales and marketing of The Resort at Pelican HillTM, the extraordinary destination resort The Irvine Company Resort Properties is creating overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Southern California's Newport Coast(R).

The Resort at Pelican Hill is a masterpiece in the making, blending the principles of Italy's most renowned Renaissance architect, Andrea Palladio, with California comfort and style. The resort will open in two phases: Pelican Hill Golf Club(R), with 36 holes of Tom Fazio-designed golf and a signature restaurant, this fall; all other components - from the bungalows and villas to the function space for every type of event, luxurious spa with 22 treatment rooms, wedding chapel, additional restaurants and "Coliseum" pool - in fall 2008.

Adelman comes to The Resort at Pelican Hill with 25 years of experience in luxury hospitality sales and marketing. Most recently, she was the vice president of marketing and sales for Beverly Hills-based Edward Thomas Company, where she oversaw Shutters on the Beach and Hotel Casa Del Mar in Santa Monica, Calif., and Hotel Andalucia in Santa Barbara, Calif. Previously, she was national director of sales for Dallas-based Rosewood Hotels & Resorts.

Additional experience includes serving as director of sales for The Plaza Hotel in New York, as director of national accounts at Fairmont Hotel Management Company in San Francisco, and as director of sales and marketing at Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia.
