The Excelsior, Hong Kong Appoints Director Food and Beverage

HONG KONG, July 19, 2007. Ms Amanda Scott, General Manager of The Excelsior, Hong Kong is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Matthew Thomas as Director of Food and Beverage.

Matthew joins The Excelsior from Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London where he was most recently employed as Food and Beverage Manager, overseeing the award-winning hotel's successful restaurant operations. Matthew will now lead The Excelsior's Food and Beverage team to ensure optimum operating efficiency and a continuation of the hotel's exemplary service standards.

A British national, Matthew embarked on his career with Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong in the capacity of Caviar Captain in 1993 progressing to Restaurant Manager for the Captain's Bar and later Restaurant Manager, Mandarin Grill until he joined Conran Restaurants, London in 1999.
