Providence Biltmore Appoints GM
Michael D. Allen Brings More than 23 Years of Experience to his New Role at Providences Most H
PROVIDENCE, RI, May 29, 2007. Grand Heritage Hotel Group announced that Michael D. Allen has been named General Manager of the Providence Biltmore Hotel, the hotel that for more than 85 years has been synonymous with luxury, history and the culture in Rhode Island's capital city. In his position, Allen will be responsible for all operations at the hotel, including the property's front and back office, reservations and guest services, as we all as marketing, sales and promotions.

He concluded, "After an extensive search, we believe that Michael's long experience in all facets of luxury hotel management make him the right person to lead this important hotel - and we look forward to an outstanding future."
Mr. Allen, who is a graduate of the sports and hotel management program at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, comes to the Providence Biltmore from his most recent position as General Manager at the Intercontinental Milwaukee. Prior to that, he served as General Manager at the Inn and Spa at Loretto, Santa Fe, after having been promoted to that position from GM at the Grove Isle Hotel & Spa, Coconut Grove, Florida. Allen's New England roots run deep, as he served as General Manager of Nantucket Island Resorts, including the White Elephant, Harbor House Village, The Wharf Cottages and Harbor View Inn. He has also worked at Interstate Hotels Corporation and the Marriott Corporation. Allen is married with three children and will reside in the Providence area.
