FastBooking signs Citéa for Checker and Updater

may 10, 2007. The French hotel chain Cit'ea has just commissioned FastBooking to install its Checker and Updater tools in all its hotels. This new agreement makes Cit'ea the company's 200th client since it first launched these two products only just over a year ago.

An optimized rating strategy This order stems from an objective by Cit'ea, which manages over fifty establishments throughout France, to optimize its rating strategy. FastBooking, whose mission is to help hoteliers develop their internet sales, designed these tools in order to enable them position their rates more accurately in relation to those of their competitors and to increase their reactivity in the face of market developments. FastBooking Checker allows hoteliers to compare automatically and in real time the rates applied by their competitors on their websites and main distribution sites while FastBooking Updater allows them to update their rates and availability instantly and simultaneously on all their extranets.

'Like everyone else, our aim is to be competitive and profitable on the internet' explains Nathalie Srougi, Cit'ea's Sales Manager. 'But the upsurge of offers and distribution channels has made this an increasingly complex process, and it is not easy to stay in line with market developments and find the right positioning. We have therefore opted for the Checker and Updater solutions, which will save us considerable time in competitive monitoring and make it easy to coordinate a coherent rating strategy throughout the group by applying truly competitive rates. And at the same time we'll be able to optimize our room availability.'

Versions 2 already available Cit'ea will benefit from the latest versions of Checker and Updater, which offer hoteliers more user-friendly and simplified interfaces and an added range of functionalities.

'We really focused on the ergonomics and power of the software for these new versions, with a view to making the hoteliers' task even easier,' explains Product Manager Matthieu Dutter. 'With the new Updater, the Yield Manager will be able to visualize or update his rates and allotments throughout his extranets, from a single page, in three simple steps, thanks to the operational harmonization of all the channels.'

In order to develop these products with their highly advanced functionalities, FastBooking needed to increase its internal resources. It has therefore launched a technical platform in India with a team of forty people to handle the development, set-up and customization of the Checker and Updater tools. In Paris, a products team liaises constantly with its Indian counterpart, ensuring follow-up at technical and marketing level.
