Dubai DTCM Honored for Water Conservation
DUBAI, UAE, May 8, 2007. The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has honoured the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) in appreciation of its tremendous efforts in conserving water and electricity.
The award ceremony was held at the Dusit Dubai Hotel recently and was attended by DEWA management and Dubai government senior officials.
Those who received certificates and mementos were Mr. Ibrahim Mohammed Al Hammadi, DTCM Director Finance, Mr. Hakam Al Hashimi, DTCM Director Heritage and Diving Village , and Mr. Mohsen Abu Shaaban, DTCM Director Projects.
Other government organizations like Dubai Municipality , Dubai Police, Dubai Police Academy , Dubai Courts, Emirates, Department of Civil Aviation and Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department were also felicitated.
The DEWA conveyed its deepest appreciation for the their work and efforts they have exerted in conserving water and electricity resources in addition to the large amount of capital these organizations have managed to save.
The DEWA had shared its expertise and experts by providing them with the needed technical know how, and dedicated teams had worked closely with the government departments to implement conservation programmes and procedures.
The departments conserved both water and electricity by controlling the use ofair-conditioning and lighting apparatus in addition to adopting modern technology and organizing awareness campaigns on the importance of preserving energy and water.
