Lexington Collection Rings in Chinese New Year
FEBRUARY 8, 2008. While millions around the world are ringing in the Chinese New Year, The Lexington Collection China is engaged in its own kind of celebration.
"All eyes will be on China this year as it ushers in the Olympic Games and continues its ascent as a global commerce powerhouse," said Steve Belmonte, CEO & President of The Lexington Collection. "Lexington China is more than ready to meet the demands that will be placed on the lodging industry as record numbers of leisure and business travelers visit China this year."
Opening in grand style in May this year is The Lexington Plaza Shenyang Rich Gate Hotel, a 600-room new construction hotel where Eastern zen-like interiors fuse with the sleek modernity of Western conveniences. Located in the largest shopping and entertainment complex in China, known as Rich Gate City, The Lexington Plaza Shenyang Rich Gate Hotel was one of the first buildings constructed as the city embarked to transform itself during a massive revitalization period.
"If you want a glimpse of the future, just take a look at Shenyang," said Martin Soran, CEO of The Lexington Collection China. "This city has taken the plans from the best engineers, visionaries, and designers of the world and created a masterpiece of a city that's beyond imagination and unlike anything we've seen in modern society thus far."
"The Lexington Plaza Shenyang Rich Gate Hotel is ready to welcome the world with its grandeur style, world-class amenities, and unrivaled hospitality. In short, we're redefining what a lodging experience should be," Soran exclaimed.
According to Belmonte, the expansion of the brand into China is a tremendous benefit for owners of US-based Lexington properties.
"With an average of four million visitors coming to the USA from China every year, our presence in their country is a fantastic billboard for the Lexington brand domestically," Belmonte said.
Rich Gate City, where the Lexington Plaza Shenyang Rich Gate Hotel is located, encompasses leisure and entertainment districts, a retail center, high-end residential district, and is one of the rare large-scale shopping centers in China.
Located near the Lexington Plaza Shenyang Rich Gate Hotel is a 70,000-seat stadium that is nearing completion. The complex will also include a 10,000-seat indoor gymnasium, a 4,000-seat aquatics center, and a 4,000-seat tennis stadium.
