Gold Award For The Grill Room From Edinburgh's Restaurateurs Association

EDINBURGH, UK, July 29, 2005. The Grill Room restaurant at Edinburgh's Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa has picked up the prestigious 'Gold Award 2005' at the high profile Edinburgh Restaurateurs Association's Capital Restaurant Awards, held in the Pompadour Restaurant at the Caledonian Hotel on the 25 July. The hotel's Santini Ristorante also received the "Recommended Award".

This was the second year of the Edinburgh's Restaurateurs Awards, which seek to reward excellence in fine dining at the top end of the market, as well as that at the lower end of the price scale. A total of 106 restaurants entered this year, which were all visited by an independent panel of judges including industry experts and marked on a number of criteria including the quality of food, wine and all aspects of service, from the courtesy of the staff to the d'ecor.

The Grill Room was selected among all those candidates and has won a coveted certificate which declares that it has reached the gold standard. Andrew Henning, Executive Assistant Manager says, "We are delighted that the Grill Room won the Gold Award and this accolade reflects the innovative dishes that Executive Chef Philip Garrod has created, together with the exceptional level of service".
