Historic Inns of Manchester, VT, to Host Two Open-House Tour Weekends in December for Guests of Seve
MANCHESTER, VT, October 10, 2005. Historic Inns of Manchester will present two activity-packed Open House Tour Weekends in southern Vermont as a prelude to the holidays. The dates are Dec. 5-7 and Dec. 12-14.
The traditional weekends that have been ongoing for the past 19 years include seven historic inns: 1811 House, Equinox, Highland Inn, Inn at Manchester, Reluctant Panther, Village Country Inn and Wilburton Inn. Each inn has its own rich and interesting history and character. Charming, grand, opulent, sophisticated and, of course, historic these are adjectives that describe them.
For Historic Inns' lodging guests, the tour weekends begin Friday evening with a reception at Hildene, the Lincoln family home in Manchester. The hors d'oeuvres reception includes holiday entertainment and a wine tasting. Saturday morning each inn serves a hearty Vermont country breakfast
At the Open House Tours, innkeepers invite guests to wander through holiday-decorated showcase rooms, enjoy refreshments and pose for souvenir photos by a Christmas tree. After the tours there will be caroling and another get together for lodging guests. Sunday morning each inn has a special good-bye breakfast. Open House Tours are afternoons from 12:30 -4:30. Tickets are $12.50 and can be purchased the day of the tour from a participating inn. Proceeds are donated to non-profit organizations that benefit children.
