New Radisson Contracted in South Africa
Rezidor's portfolio now reaches 350 hotels
SEPTEMBER 18, 2008. The Rezidor Hotel Group announces the Radisson Hotel Blaauwberg in Cape Town, South Africa - the property featuring 144 rooms is scheduled to open in Q4 2010.
It is the third Rezidor hotel in Cape Town (besides the Radisson SAS Waterfront Hotel and the Park Inn Greenmarket Square), and the group's 21st property in Africa. EMEA-wide, the signing brings the company's overall pipeline to new heights: Rezidor is now having 350 hotels in operation and under development.

The Radisson Hotel Blaauwberg is being built on a landmark site on Beach Road, Blaauwberg across the road from the beach offering guests a picture postcard image of Africa's most beautiful city with the world famous Table Mountain presiding over it. Robben Island, where once Nelson Mandela was held prisoner and today a World Heritage Site, lies against a backdrop of spectacular sunsets from the hotel. Besides 144 themed first class rooms the Radisson Hotel Blaauwberg will offer six state-of-the-art conference and meeting facilities, an award winning contemporary bar and restaurant concept, a destination cocktail bar, an outdoor swimming pool, and a fitness area and sundeck.
Blaauwberg is recognized as the fastest growing municipal area in South Africa, located on the west coast of Table Bay, Cape Town, 25 km from the central business district and 30 minutes to Cape Town International Airport.
