Swiss^otel Appoints Three to GM Posts in Asia Pacific

SINGAPORE, September 30, 2008. Swiss^otel Hotels & Resorts is pleased to announce the following new appointments in Asia Pacific:

Mr Julian van den Bogaerde, as General Manager of Swiss^otel Grand, Shanghai with effect from 1 October 2008

Mr Christian Schaufelbuehl, as General Manager of Swiss^otel Nankai Osaka as of 30 September 2008, and

Mr Rainer Tenius, General Manager, Swiss^otel Merchant Court, Singapore from 1 October 2008.

Julian van den Bogaerde, General Manager, Swiss^otel Grand, Shanghai

Julian began his career with Raffles Hotels & Resorts in 1999 as Vice President Food & Beverage. In 2003, he joined Swiss^otel Hotels and Resorts as a member of the pre-opening team that successfully opened Swiss^otel Nai Lert Park, Bangkok. Subsequently, he assumed the position of General Manager at Swiss^otel Amsterdam. Prior to his appointment in Shanghai, Julian was based in the head office of Swiss^otel Hotels & Resorts in Zurich as General Manager supporting various properties throughout the world.

Christian Schaufelbuehl, General Manager, Swiss^otel Nankai, Osaka

Since September 2005, Christian has been General Manager of Swiss^otel Merchant Court, Singapore where he successfully oversaw an extensive transformation of the property that secured the hotel a prestigious World Travel Award as Singapore's leading business hotel, 2008. He joined Swiss^otel Hotels & Resorts in 1996 in Swiss^otel Zurich as Executive Assistant Manager Rooms and subsequently, Sales & Marketing. Thereafter, he assumed the position of Director of Operations at Swiss^otel Sydney before his move to Singapore.

Rainer Tenius, General Manager, Swiss^otel Merchant Court, Singapore

For the past year, Mr Tenius has held the position of General Manager at Swiss^otel Kunshan, China where oversaw the conversion of the former Traders Hotel to a Swiss^otel property and successfully launched the 387-room hotel as the foremost hotel property in Kunshan in July 2007.

Mr Tenius began his career at Swiss^otel Hotels & Resorts 18 years ago in 1990 as Executive Assistant Manager with Swiss^otel Dusseldorf, Neuss, Germany. Within five years, he was promoted to General Manager, managing Swiss^otel Cairo El Salam Hotel in Egypt and Swiss^otel Zurich in Switzerland. In 2003, he also led the pre-opening team at Swiss^otel The Celik Palas, Turkey as General Manager. From 2004 to 2007, he was helming Swiss^otel Dusseldorf, Neuss, Germany as General Manager before venturing to China.
